cannot get any sound from speaker.

Hello,

I use audio cleaning lab 2016, on windows 10 22H2 and the software is up to date, to hear the sound I use a Startech 7.1 USB sound card, the software detects the sound card and I can see that Audio cleaning lab show the box at the top of the screen show sound volume is fine, but I get no sound from the speakers that I am using, Have tried the spakers in the head phone slot on my hifi and the spakers work fine.

Any help to fix this issue would be great.

Thanks

@Apache01

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

As a first step towards resolving this please go to your computer's Control Panel>Sound>Playback tab and check which device is set as the default output. The tab will look something like this:

(This is a screenshot of mine; yours will certainly be different!)

Check exactly which device has the green tick against it to indicate the default device. In your case it should show your USB soundcard.

If that does not help please post a screenshot of your computer's Sound>Playback tab, i.e., your version of what I've posted above.

@Apache01

Thank you for the screenshot. It shows your default output as Headphones, you need to change to one of the Speaker options shown. I would suggest first trying the option which is listed first on that screen, although it says your speakers are not plugged in! So, are they actually connected to that USB Audio device?

Hi

. . . . Startech 7.1 USB sound card . . . the software detects the sound card and I can see that Audio cleaning lab show the box at the top of the screen show sound volume is fine, but I get no sound from the speakers that I am using . . . .

How is this connected to the computer - SPDIF, USB or 3mm jack stereo cable to the Line in?

Which output setting shows the Startech device in ACL

If using the SPDIF input the image above shows the Start-Tech device is not plugged - is the optical cable good?

If USB are you using the cable that came with the device and plugging it into a USB 2 socket - not all old USB 2 devices are correctly detected in a USB 3 socket?

Hello John EB

Thanks for getting back to me.

some of the hardware in my PC has had it, so I am going to replace the hardware and then format the hard drive and then do a clean install of windows 10 22H2.

Thanks

Hello,

the issue is now fixed. On the star tech sound card cannot have sound come out of it, you have to use the build in sound on PC, and just use the sound card for line in.

Thanks
