@Damian-Stock

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Is this just an issue with the evaluation version?

Yes. All Magix trial versions are in some way limited as compared with the purchased versions. Once bought, all additional features will become available to download.

However, the Main Concept (MC) codec has, I believe, not been available for some time so are you sure that is the version you need? I've just used the (now rather old, but still very useful) GSpot Codec Information Appliance to check whether I currently ahve any MC codecs on my system and can find none. But I do transfer footage from Sony Handycams, though not HDV, without issue.

@Damian-Stock

Hello Damian,

As Jeff already writes, a Magix Trail version has its limitations.

But if you purchase the full version, you can still download the MPEG-2 CODEC (MainConcept).

Translation into English.

The program requires "MPEG-2 Codec (MainConcept)" for recording, which must be downloaded due to licensing. Would you like to activate, download and install these components now for free? Click YES

If it turns out that it does not work for you after purchasing VDL2024, you can exercise the right of return without giving reasons within 14 days of the purchase date. See: https://www.magix.com/gb/terms-and-conditions/

Good luck,
Rob

Als een kwestie onoplosbaar lijkt, komt dat niet omdat je de oplossing niet ziet, maar omdat je het probleem niet ziet.

If an issue seems unsolvable, it is not because you do not see the solution, but because you do not see the problem.
