We'll need a few more details here. Where does the video come from? How do you get it into the program? Is this some video file you're importing? If so, what format? Or is this an analog or digital capture? Do you possibly see small preview images in the video track (when in timeline mode) but not in the actual preview monitor, or does the timeline video track also stay completely empty/black?
