Can't hear myself via headphones/speakers whilst recording

Hello I'm using samplitude music studio 16 windows7 and recording semi acoustic via usb port. signal records and playback through headphones/speakers ok. But is it possible to listen to guitar whilst recording via headphones/speakers it would be nice to listen to the various effects that can be introduced at this stage[vandal se] etc. any help much appreciated.

That might not be possible with your hardware.

If you just record the guitar straight through using yoru USB, can you hear it as you are recording through the speakers?
