Can't find serial number

Hi,

I live in Australia, and purchased the Kaiser Baas DVD Maker a few years ago. I have been using Video Easy SE and converting tapes onto DVD and USB for about a year or so now, but now cannot burn onto DVD without the MPEG-2 codec. However, upon trying to activate the codec, I've realised that there is no serial number in my system, and any serial number I can find on the Kaiser Baas products does not work/is not what I'm looking for.

Is there any way to contact MAGIX to rectify this? I've been going in circles trying to find a contact and I'm coming up empty handed.

Thanks

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

I confess to being a little confused as to whether you need the MPEG-2 codec for Video Easy or for the Kaiser Bass. Especially since you say you have previously burned DVDs successfully.

However, if you need the serial number for Video Easy and assuming you registered the software with Magix, if you go to your account, log in (assuming you know your log in details), go to My products and find the listing for Video Easy. The serial number should be there.

If the number is not there or you cannot log in I think your only option is to email infoservice@magix.net, explain the problem and ask for their help.

Hi

AFAICS Kaiser-Baas Video Easy SE does not need a serial number.

What is version number and full name of the program you have installed, and what Windows version you are running it on?

Hi @johnebaker and @emmrecs, thank you for your responses.

I also haven't needed a serial number (or the MPEG-2 codec) up until this point, so I am also confused about it.

I'm using MAGIX Video Easy 3 HD, but I can't find the version, sorry. I'm running Windows 10 Home.

Sorry, computers aren't really my thing, so I'm having trouble working this out.

Hi

. . . . MAGIX Video Easy 3 HD, . . . Windows 10 Home . . . . but now cannot burn onto DVD. . . .

Video Easy 3 HD is not compatible with Windows 10.

If Video Easy was installed on and earlier version of Windows which has since been upgraded to Windows 10 then the upgrade has removed the MPEG-2 codec.

If Video Easy was installed on a new Windows 10 computer then the codec is not available.

As Video Easy 3 HD is 10 years old, it may be time to upgrade to the latest version. I would suggest you download the trial version and test it first, if you are running on an older computer.
