Can't activate software - error code 24

edward-y wrote on 2/11/2021, 5:25 AM

Hi,

I recently bought and installed a copy of Web Designer, which worked well on my computer.

I then bought a new computer and wanted to install the software on it so that I could continue editing my website.

When I put in the activation key, I get and error message 24, suggesting that the software is registered to another emaill address. I'm sure I've got rthe right email address. Do I need to remove the software from the old computer to activate on the new one or do I have to buy another licence for the new computer?

You should not need a new licence for Web Designer (XWD).

When you buy XWD you get 2 activation slots ie you can install on 2 computers and activate the program, assuming you only installed once* on the old computer than check the email address and password are those you originally registered the software with.

* you can check this by browsing to magix.com login in using the email address and password you used for the software activation and select My products - there you will see your registered product(s) - click the Show more details link under Web Designer to see the activations used - you can also de-activate the old computer installation.

Hi, I signed into magix.com using the email address for the software activation and I can't find 'My Products', which suggests to me that I typed in a wrong email address when activating as it's not registered under the right address.

I've deactivated the programme on my old computer but still I'm getting error message 24 when I try to activate on the new computer.

It's a shame, as I'd like to upgrade to premium.

I would suggest you contact Magix by email to infoservice@magix.net.

Quote your serial number/order number and explain the issue to them.
