That is exactly what I wanted, and I can see how you can modify the properties of an existing menu item found on templates, but how does on add a new menu item, i.e. a text field, to an existing template?
Thanks for the response! This is useful for new menu buttons, but is it possible to just add a text field, such as "Chapters" to indicate that this button takes you to a list of the chapters in the video?
. . . .is it possible to just add a text field, such as "Chapters" to indicate that this button takes you to a list of the chapters . . . .
Yes - just do not do step 3, leave it at the default No link

Hi John,
Nice - much neater than my method!
Hi Ralph,
Go for John's simpler approach.
Here's an illustration of the result for the example you gave:
Use the Arranger method for other customising that proves impossible otherwise.
IMO the 'Adds and extra button to the menu page' is misleadingly (not just carelessly) worded. It should be called something like 'Add text or a new button to the menu page'.
. . . . Yes you can add but you cant add effects and fades. . . . .
It is possible to do by faking the text button(s), however it is it a two stage process - below is my first attempt which works.
I am working on a single stage method - I do not think this may be successful because while adding titles to the timeline is possible in the Edit in Arranger mode - it appears you can not edit them!!!
Can you amplify on the problem you're having? I seem able to edit OK.
In this example I added the text as described in my previous post. Then I went back and added a fade in and previewed it. Then I added the flashing and a fade out.
P.S: Not my office, one of my sons. Hasn't inherited my Tidy gene.
