Can I lock in very small clips in their timeline?

Hello..

VPX Vers 17.0.3.68 (UDP3) 8447 KA3

I am trying to multi edit 5 cams but some of the clips are extremely small and I would like to lock them in position if I could do that.

As there are many of these tiny clips, can I lock each one as I [position them, or is the whole track locked?

Is it possible, of not what is a good way to know everything is where it should be once I fix it?

Thank you

oz

@1940

Hi Oz

Locking is by track only, individual locking of a clips position is not possible.

One 'very messy' ie 'not practical' with a larger number of clips, option would be to group the individual clips on other tracks to an image/video on a locked track, however this downside is, as soon as you group them you cannot move them,

Grouping one by one creates a nested/multiple level hierarchy which can be very frustrating to undo, and get it wrong unlocks everything except the initial locked image/video

VPX, and all the other video editors I have used over 25+ years, have been lock track only.

Many thanks John. I thought so! Yes I have tried that option but it was hard setting it up. It is a music show and she only shot pieces every now and then. Trouble is the angle was were so good, I couldn't leave it out.

I am trying to sync just do one song at a time (30 altogether) so it is easier to place the clips.

Many thanks for the advice. 😀
