Hi
Is there a way to edit or erase unwanted sounds in my vocal recordings. Sounds such as breaths or sniffling etc. any help would be greatly appreciated.
You did not talk about version or software name. I am sharing my experience of Magix Music Maker.
Yes there is a possibility in Music maker. I am using MMM 16 Premium and also in older version I found Magix Music Editor is a very good tool.
As you said breath, in this case I used to use Dehissing. You have to try few times and when you are satisfied save your audio.
Procedure:
Start Music Maker
or from Start button choose All Programs click on Magix and then Magix Music Editor as per screen shot follow red numbers.
Import your audio.
In Magix Music Editor click on Effects/Dehissing. Dehissing tool will be opened Start playing around and when you are staisfied save your audio.(refer screen shot and follow red numbers)
Sorry, but I would not use "dehissing" or the "'denoiser" for this purpose. They are in effect filters and will alter the frequencies in the entire vocal track (unless they will work in a selected range).
IMO, the best way to remove unwanted sounds (provided they do not occur simultaneously with the desired audio) in Music Editor is to do just that - remove them.
Import your vocal track into the Music editor. Select the range of the noise you wish to remove.

Go to...EDIT > More > Set Silence (ALT+DEL)
There you go. The offending sound is removed.

Thank you for you responses. I have MMM17 (non premium). I also don't think I have Magix music editor. I will look for that though. I believe you answers were helpful.
