Burn to folder or ISO?

Seems like MEP 17 is missing some features or I just can't find them.  Can't find a way to 'burn' a DVD to a folder or ISO.  I like to burn to a folder so I can test the menus before I burn to a disc.  Sometimes I might notice something that I would like to change.  A HUGE oversight?

Also when I click on the EXPORT button in the upper right corner, I get totally different options than using File / Export Movie.  When I try to Export a 3D video using the Button, the only option is WMV.  Wouldn't have been my first choice.

Wouldn't exporting the file to MPEG-2 roughly be the same as this burn to folder, or are you looking to get the menu structure as well? (Overall and complete disc image to the hard drive)

I am not sure this is the same, but if I was to go to Burn, then click on the Burn icon, select Other Options, choose Back-Up then after a moment it opens a Burn application that I can then proceed with and create an ISO under the Advanced Options. But, this might not be what you are referring too. I have not worked in the way you describe, but it sounds beneficial to verify the work before a timely burn process.

Thanks again John, but that is not an option to burn an ISO FILE, but ISO file structure to the disc (8.3 file names for DOS compatibility). The BACKUP option doesn't burn a video disc, but a DATA disc.

Yes I do want the menu as that is what I would be testing.  I don't use cheap blank DVDs so I'm not in a habit of wasting.  When I commit to burn a disc, that is the final version.

Yes, burning to folder is very useful. I can then use WMP, VLC or any other media player to check out the menu structure to see if it works properly. Sometimes I may decide to change a button or highlight color.  MEP17 is a great video editor, but again lacking in the DVD authoring.  I'll just conitue with what I already use.

That is what I thought... Sorry.

Again, this is a suggestion for development.
