Burn Error writing to DVD, image recorder, and exporting files

tuskiso wrote on 3/10/2010, 8:50 PM
I have a trial version of Magix Edit Pro 16. Each time I attempt to burn project to a DVD I get an error. I get the same error even if i write to the image recorder. If i try to export to another file format (MPEG-4 or other), Edit Pro just hangs. I have downloaded and installed the patches for burn errors. The problem continues. I've also attempted reinstalling and get the same problem. I have noted that this issus has been raised numerous time on this forum, but there does not appear to be any resolutions. I contacted Magix email support, but it only referenced the download files and possible other patches (that do not apply here). although, i was impressed with the editing features, I am thouroughly dissappointed with the output options (simply can't get them to work). I would welcome any specific solutions to the Burn DVD error.........

Could you be more specific as to what the error says?

I would guess that you may have a problem with the codec for your burner. Go to the DVD makers site for whatever brand of DVD you have and see if you can update the software for that unit.

Are you using the "export" feature or "burning to DVD" feature? The burning feature works better.

Also try to download a trial of MEP15 and see if it works better. MEP16 is very new and may still have issues, although I find mine works just fine....so far.

I'm having a similar issue in MEP 16.  I am using the "Burn" interface in the program to create DVDs.  So far I can burn a DVD fine that only has one movie file.  As soon as I try to burn a project with multiple moive files (2 or more) I get the following error:

"Burning was aborted with the following error:  Error encoding.  Movie encoding failed"

The error log gives me this info...which is all greek to me:

I have never had this error...but I don't usually try to burn more hen one movie at a time. Are the movies real long?

  I got the same message.

This worked for me.

Turn off all background music in all of the DVD menus.

Worked. but don't know why
