If you set it up how you want it and then click on window and then window arrangement and save the layout of the windows can you then return and select it ? Does that work for you ?
Unfortunately that did not help. I can get it to do what I want it to do, but just have to reset it every time I open it. Annoying, but doable. Just don't understand why it will not stay at the last used setting.
The setting shown below should not be set for dual monitor working, it is normally used for a 3rd monitor full screen display with no transport controls,
For dual monitor working:
Ensure the above options are unchecked.
Drag the Preview monitor to the right screen and maximise it.
Rearrange the panes in the left monitor if necessary
From the menu select Window, Window Arrangement, Save and give the layout a name eg Dual monitor and save it. Note the keyboard shortcut assigned to the layout it will probably be F10
VPX will remember and use, on the next start or new project, the last layout used.
You can now quickly switch between single screen using F9 , eg for screenshots, and dual screen by using the assigned function key eg F10
Note: if you have issues with F9 returning to the standard layout, select the Window Arrangement option Standard layout and save this as a second preset I had to do this as seen in the video
Thank you for this information. It looks like I would like to treat it as a third monitor then. I would like the Preview monitor to be in the left monitor so I can work on it there. I then want a full screen preview in the right monitor so I can see exactly what I will be looking at on TV. For example. I often want to enlarge the video so only part of it shows in the final movie. When I go to the Size effect and it puts handles on the video to enlarge it I can not drag them very far if it is full screen on the right monitor, but can if it is smaller on the left monitor.
. . . . I would like the Preview monitor to be in the left monitor so I can work on it there . . . .
In standard layout (one monitor) move the entire VPX interface to the right monitor, follow through sequence I gave above and puttiing the Prieview monitor on the left screen.
. . . . When I go to the Size effect and it puts handles on the video to enlarge it I can not drag them very far if it is full screen on the right monitor, but can if it is smaller on the left monitor . . .
This can be overcome by either using:-
In the Preview monitor 'hamburger' menu the zoom options you can use to reveal the object handles.
Use the parameter adjustments in the Size & Position effect pane, eg change width to resize the image either by entering a new size, or left click drag the width box and drag the mouse down
Thanks for the information. I did not know I could click on the width or Heights setting and then drag it to get incremental sizing. It is hard to type in a value as I really would be only guessing, but getting continual change by dragging would work. It does make the image smaller because of the various "tool bars" but I can probably live with that. I think that might get me to where I need to be. But why would the VIDEO OUTPUT ACTIVATED not stay on if it stays checked when you turn off and restart the program???? That does seem like a bug as if I was using 3 monitors then I would have to change it each time I started it.
