@Mathias-Lerstad

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

Your screenshot shows that the recording has run for only about 5 seconds. What happens if you allow it to continue for rather longer? I ask this because I do a lot of work transferring VHS (and other) video to computer, though not using RYVT, and the beginning of the tape very often has this "blue screen" where the original tape has either, not run far enough to be past the initial non-recordable leader or, the original recording did not actually start at the very beginning of the recordable tape. In this situation, simply allowing the tape to continue to run, perhaps for quite a number of seconds, will eventually produce an audio and video signal and the blue screen will disappear.

If you have allowed the tape to run for some time but still see the blue screen we really need to know a lot more about your computer (hardware, OS, RAM (how much?), size and type of hard drive(s) and how much free space, etc., etc.. This post will show you the level of detail which would be invaluable in helping us to help you.

Also, exactly which version of RYVT do you have?

One other thing: there are a number of posts in the forum where users of RYVT have experienced the problem of the correct drivers for the USB dongle not being installed. In your case, given the blue screen which you are seeing, I do not think that is the problem.

I'm using the program on my laptop. I tried to install the drivers, but its still the same. Blue screen and no sound, there is just some small noises from the videoplayer i can hear in the recording, nothing from the videotape. The videoplayer i'm using is a Panasonic NV-J40EO.

@Mathias-Lerstad

Hi

Are you connecting the VCR to the USB capture device using the original SCART to RCA connector - yellow, red and white connectors - that came with the USB capture device?

If not does it have an In/Out switch on the SCART plug?

Is the VCR PAL/MESECAM selector set to PAL, and PAL being selected in Rescue Your Video Tapes (RYVT)?

I'm using the SCART to RCA (yellow, red and white) that came with the capture device, and the switch is set to OUT. The last you said about PAL/MESECAM is something i have to look at.

Now i finnaly got it working! pushing the PAL/MESECAM button on the videoplayer was a good idea haha. Thanks allot for helping.
