black screen when uploading from vcr

Hi first time using this proramme but when trying to upload from vcr all i get is a black screen and no audio either.in the book it says to go to advanced view and change to magix usb converetr but cant see this anywhere in advanced view

simple question, is the switch on the scart plug set to OUT? Have you got the USB device connected directly in a USB port on your computer; if not you need to, and disconnect other USB devices.

The driver in my software is called USB videowandler... That's what you need. If you don't see it, then you need to reinstall the drivers. A good thing to do is get in touch with MAGIX support, and they can send you the very latest drivers. They'll need a bit more info from you though.
