Best method to create a slideshow

I have just purchased Photostory 2018 and need some advice on the best method to build up a slideshow. All my photos are in Windows/Pictures and are sorted in separate folders in the year that they were taken and I would like to have a similar selection process on the DVD. Do I have to put each year on a different line in the timeline or all on one line then markers to show which year on the DVD Menu. Have worked out how to put photos, transitions, text and music into one sample but not sure of the method for a much larger project.

Hi

Welcome to the forum

As a first step I would advise you watch the Tutorial in Photostory and read the installed PDF manual available under Help if you have not already done so.

. . . . All my photos are in Windows/Pictures and are sorted in separate folders in the year that they were taken and I would like to have a similar selection process on the DVD. Do I have to put each year on a different line in the timeline or all on one line then markers to show which year on the DVD Menu . . . .

If you want each year to have its own menu button on the DVD then it is best to put each years images on a seperate timeline. To add another timeline clcik the + button circled in blue in the image below, in this example there are three timelines, circled in red, and they have been renamed to the years.

The disc menu will automatically create the correct buttons for selecting each year as shown below

Note: when adding a new timeline you will be asked if you want to use the slideshow wizard.
