AVCHD with Magix Video Pro X4

RH01 wrote on 5/28/2016, 9:16 AM

Hey there
I have a problem with Magix Video Pro X4 . When I play my images in AVCHD with resolution 1920 * 1080 with frame rate 25.00 there is a fault in the playback of images. This applies to both the program window and the packing for MPEG-4.
When I play the same images in video camera there is no problem .
My computer should be strong enough to work with AVCHD images.
Can anyone help here.

Regards Ralf

Hi

. . . . should be strong enough to work with AVCHD images . . . .

We need more information:

Computer specification - include the following:

  • processor make and model

  • RAM (computer memory)

  • graphics card / chipset

  • hard drive(s) free space

  • Project settings ( E key)

  • Programs settings (Y key) from the Video/Audio tab Movie Display box.

I'm not sure you can see the pictures I have uploaded here. Maybe I can send them by email to you?

No, they are unreadable as they stand.  Do you have any suitable software that would allow you to crop the parts of the image that are not needed and then resize them, and then repost these new, versions?

However, I can say from personal experience that AVCHD footage works very well in VPX 4.

Hi

Thanks for the larger images - AFAICS everything is the same as mine except for one setting that I think you should turn on in the Program settings, Playback tab - Overload optimisation for real-time playback

That should make some difference however can you post a screen shot of the timeline and have any special effects been used in the project?

How long does the export to mp4 take compared to the length of the project?

Thanks

John EB

Hello again.
There is no difference unfortunately.
Neither the timeline and MPEG-4.
I switched on the program settings ...
It took the computer 25 minutes and create MPEG -4 file.

The file on the timeline lasts 6 minutes and 33 seconds .
I have , however, not apply any special effects.
Thank you for your kindness  :-)

When I test the connection from the camcorder to the TV with the HDMI cable so are the images perfectly. So my computer's graphics card is either corrupted or not set up right ?

Hi

The file on the timeline lasts 6 minutes and 33 seconds . . . . .

Definitely something is slowing the rendering down.

. . . . my computer's graphics card is either corrupted or not set up right . . .

I suspect the rendering times you are getting may be correct with a 2nd generation i7 and the graphics card, however it may be worth checking the graphics drivers are up to date.

The longer render time may also be partly affected by what else is running on the PC and is hogging resources - in particular the antivirus program.

Hi

After a bit more experimenting, ie firing up my old computer - a quad core Q8300 2.5GHz, 4GB RAM, GTX 690 graphics card and testing VPX 4, no hardware acceleration, with a complex project as shown below

exporting a 7 mins section with multiple objects - AVCHD video, still images, collage, and audio on the tracks, takes 23 minutes.
