AVCHD files wont convert to MPEG-2

I just bought Magix Pro 16 and now when I drag a AVCHD file down to edit, I don't get the box that pops up which ask if I would like to edit in MPEG-2 for a slower computer. It automatically stays on MPEG-4 and it's very choppy when trying to edit. Please Help!

Is this from a new project with nothing else loaded yet?

If not, try opening a new project, then loading in that AVCHD file into that project, are you prompted to convert the file so your system can handle the performance?
