Auto Backup Steals My Computer

Movie Studio's auto backup is getting worse. In the 2023 feedback topic, I reported that it steals the mouse pointer/play marker when it runs a backup, sometimes messing up an edit by grabbing and moving an object I was working on until I click somewhere and release the play marker from the mouse pointer.

Now if, say, I'm looking at some other program (such as when I'm typing this post(!) and the backup runs, Movie Studio jumps into my face as the focussed program.

This is most annoying. I was prepared to think it was my old computer/Win 10 but no, it's still here.

Is anybody else having this trouble?

PS: I have my backup set for 11 minutes because Windows blanks my screen at 10 minutes. If I set the backup to 10 minutes, Windows thinks the program is active and never powers the screen off.

@AAProds Hi, just to answer your question, no I have not had that, mine is set to the default 10mins & sods law it always seems to save just when I'm going to File - Export Movie - I move the mouse right to choose from the export options & it auto saves, File & the export options close meaning I have to again do File - Export Movie - then I can choose an export option because it won't save for another 10mins.

Hi Al.

I just get a mouse movement. No grabbing (if something is held with a left mouse click at the time it is released) but I'm on MEP 2022 and VPX 14.

I've recently noticed that Magix now "takes over" when an autobackup occurs.

Scenario: Magix is maximised. I open a Chrome browser window and go browsing (Magix behind). When the autobackup occurs, the browser minimises and Magix appears, fullscreen. It makes me jump! 😬

Happening to anybody else?

Hi Al.

No, I've never seen that happen and some of my projects take a couple of hours to render still and I am regularly doing another activity or web browsing. I use Firefox though.

Ray, thanks, it could be a Chrome-only thing. It's only just started happening. Either Chrome is too weak to hold Magix off or Bill Gates is in my box messing with me.

Is it also doing it on your second system?

I am also still on Windows 10, not 11 and recently (in the last week) there have been Microsoft NET framework updates that may make or has made a difference as if I understand what I read and remember the update has some effect on how dlls are handled.
