Hey guys,
I want to use MAGIX sounds for 1) Cutting up as Sampling/sound design purposes, 2) Mixing into original music productions for professional sales (as music).
I looked over the Audio pro licenses for some old Soundpools that I have. Sorry for any repetition, I know there is a lot of same info around here but I did check around first and contact support - who are unfortunately too brief in their emails, such that I have to ask 20 questions...
1. I bought the actual DVD Soundpool collections in the past, I believe before Catooh was created, i.e. I have Soundpools 11 and 12 on disc. Must I re-purchase electronically for an official Audio Pro license? The libraries are only available in Audio Pro license, so I was presuming I already am licensed as such, simply by making purchase of the DVD.
2. In the Audio Pro license, how exactly does this clause apply to the scenario of Sampling and music production? I don't quite understand it, practically.
"3.3) Removal of references to copyright, performance protection or brand names that may be connected to the content. The customer is obliged to reproduce these references on each instance of use."
I've contacted support and they say "The chapter 3.3 means that it is not allowed to remove "Watermarks" or other copy protections from the original file." I then asked how/what, and they simply said it was possible to add digital watermarks to an audio signal. I still have no clue what it means. I would think it has something to do with branding their video content, but the above clause is stated in the Audio Pro license.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
Joel
