Audio file gets corrupted when rendering movie

Hello.

A short (816 kb) mp3 file of music that plays fine on its own, gets corrupted when we render a movie we are working on. In the rendered movie, the mp3 file sounds distorted, and there is a crackling noise that isn't present on the original mp3 file.

This happens in both Magix Pro X 4 and Pro X 7.

We converted the mp3 to a wav file, and the wav file too got corrupted in the same way.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and how to fix the problem?

Thanks.

Hi

. . . . mp3 file sounds distorted, and there is a crackling noise that isn't present on the original mp3 file . . . .

This may occur with highly compressed, low bitrate, mp3 files.

. . . . converted the mp3 to a wav file . . .

Which converter did you use and did you change any of the conversion settings?

To check the bitrate of the mp3 file - in Windows Explorer, right the file and select Properties, Details tab - there you will find the bitrate information.

What is the source of the mp3?

Hmmm, my reply didn't post, so am trying again.

We converted the file in Magix; didn't change any settings.

The bitrate is 128 kbps.

We sourced the file from two different devices (recorded the music on both at the same time):

1) Canon camera video

2) Sony handheld digital recorder

Any suggestions welcome, or I'd be happy to upload the file somewhere for someone more experienced than us to check it out.

Many thanks.
