Audio Distortion on Re-imported mp4 files

I recently purchased Movie Edit Pro 16 Plus. On my first project I exported edited video clips as mp4 files, which play fine in WMP, VLC, and Real Player. I wanted to add titles to them, but when I re-imported them into the timeline, the audio track was very distorted. Since I didn't save the original edited clips, it appears I have to re-edit from the original raw video and add titles right away. This is a not fun!

Any ideas as to why the completed mp4 clips have audio problems when re-imported, and how to avoid that problem?

Most likely because the codec for the .mp4 files cannot uncompress to the .wav standard that the program is using.

You have to understand that .mp4 is actually stripping out information to make the size smaller, therefore less audio/video data is contained in the final product.

My recommendation is to always save the project as a backup before exporting the final file format, so if you need to go back, the project is ready to go.
