Audio component disconnected from video

Stefani-Russell wrote on 2/14/2019, 10:20 AM

Most of my video files have lost their audio component. I recently had to "find" the folders where they were located again because the name of the file location changed. Since then the audio component is lost in most of the videos. How do I fix this? There are over 400 videos in my project and most are small edited clips. I really don't want to have it completely messed up! I have found the Magix files on my computer, and when I add those into the project, they are just the audio component. Why did they become separated? Is my only option to add them back in manually? If so, I'd have to edit the audio to fit with the video again :(

Hi

. . . . had to "find" the folders where they were located again because the name of the file location changed . . . . the audio component is lost in most of the videos . . .

Try the following with Photostory closed.

  1. Using Windows Explorer browse to the folder(s) containing the video files

  2. Delete all the files with the following file extensions - .H0 and .HDP (if there are any) and also delete the file mxfilerelatedcache.mxc2

  3. Start Photostory and load the project.

Thank you John. I tried that, but unfortunately it didn't work. I've started going through and using "exchange object" to exchange each individual video with my original video on my computer. It's really disappointing because it will take so much time.

@Stefani-Russell

I'm confused! In your original post you wrote:

Most of my video files have lost their audio component

and John EB explained the process to make PS "find" the missing audio files.

However, in your latest reply you say:

I've started going through and using "exchange object" to exchange each individual video with my original video on my computer

which seems to suggest it is actually the video component that is missing!

Which is it, please?

Is this project the one using the 'live photos' from the iPhone you previously posted an issue about?

. . . . had to "find" the folders where they were located again because the name of the file location changed . . . . the audio component is lost in most of the videos . . .

Did you point Photostory to the folder where the automatically separated jpeg and MOV original files were located or some other folder?
