Asus Video Easy

I recently purchased from Amazon this computer:

ASUS M51AC-US004S Intel Core i7-4770, 16GB RAM, 1TB HD, Windows 8 Desktop

It came with ASUS Video easy loaded on it. I can not find my video camera when I plug it into the computer using either a RCA to USB cable or using and EasyCAP USB adaptor cable. The image for connection shows only an RCA-RCA plug in cable. The computer does not appear to have an RCA recepticle.

Is the program not capable of finding the video device through the USB? Is the Video easy just placed on the computer as a non functioning teaser? Am I missing something?

Thanks

Hi

This is probably a driver issue - check that the latest and correct driver for the EasyCap capture device - you should be using the 32 bit drivers not the 64 bit which I suspect are installed and the software cannot find.

Once the drivers have been fixed, with the computer switched on and at the Windows screen, connect and start in this order:

   - plug in USB capture device

   - Connect camera to EasyCap RCA connectors and switch it on

   - Start Video Easy

The USB device should then be available.

I messed around trying to use the drivers on the easycap disc, but they refused to instal any other than the 64 bit for windows 8.

If I want to purchase the nessecary hardware to capture video with the program, what would be recommended?
