Aspect ratio of .VOB with DVD 7

When I try to import some .VOB files I created with my DVD camcorder using DVD 7 but the aspect ratio always comes in at 4:3 even though the recording is 16:9. I downloaded the trial for DVD 8 and it worked fine. Any suggestions (other than buying DVD 8!).

Hi,

You can correct the aspect ratio of an imported video manually. Just right-click on the video (in timeline mode) and pick "Object properties" from the menu that comes up. In the properties dialog, you will find a field for the aspect ratio, which you can adjust manually. Confirm by pressing OK and you're almost done. If you want to work with the material, have the correct preview monitor and render it correctly, you should make sure your project settings are set to 16:9 as well ("E" key).
