I'm using Movie Studio 2022 Platinum, Version 21.0.2.138 (UDP3)
When I export to pretty much any format (I've only tried MPEG-4 and HVEC) from Movie Studio Platinum 2024, artifacts appear that do not appear when I export the same movie from Movie Studio Platinum 2022. They seem to occur around even the most basic transitions, like Cross-fades. See attached.

I would check your export settings in the advanced section of the export dialogue box is the same as in your 2022 version.
This is just an example, not necessarily the settings you need of have made.

In addition to @CubeAce comment - which export preset are you using for MP4 and HEVC and are you changing any of the parameters?
Are the examples above the original exported video, or screen captures from the player you are using?
If the player is this VLC? If so I have been having similar issues with these artifacts and VLC, try a different player.

Why would any playback program make a difference to only the transitions of a rendered file?
To me it just looks like way too low a bit rate on the conversion. It is very lacking in detail even when there is no transition going on.

Good question, it would not affect the render, however we do not know yet if the files Ian uploaded are the originals or screen grabs from a player.

I have tried lowering the bit rate to absurd levels and it only results in a more blurry and blocky image. Then again we don't also know the quality of the original files either and that is negated somewhat by Ian saying the 2022 version doesn't suffer that.
