Are there any particle effects software for Video Pro X?

I'm trying to do some snow effects and realize that my digieffects phenomenon isn't showing up anywhere. I believe it came with my MEP2013 orMEP2014. It is still installed per control panel.Any suggestions on adding animated snow/rain/twinkling stars with Video Pro X?

Hi

Which version of Pro X - without knowing this it makes it difficult to help you.

. . . . it came with my MEP2013 orMEP2014 . . .

I think you are referring to the ProDad Adorage effects package which certainly available in VPX4 on the Effects tabs.

Digieffects Phenomena came with MEP2013 but there are some in Adorage.

David probably has VPX6 which is 64Bit so the previous version Plugins will not be accessible.

Sorry for the delay. Thank you both for the quick responses.

Yes I do have the VPX6. I thought the X6 was updated to support both 32-bit and 64-bit. I don't remember exactly where I read that.

If Phenomena is no longer any good, what would be another alternative? Its to bad Magix doesn't offer a replacement to their Digieffects Phenomena that works with X6. Am I the only one who uses these types of effects?  I certainly appreciate any suggestions.

Hi David,

I'm not sure whether or I got these effect in the following screen with VPX6 or copied them from MEP, but they work:

The image shows Fire, Fog, Rain, Rain clouds, Snow, Sunrays, Sunrise, and Sunset. I presume that this is what you are looking for.

In VPX6: C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Video Pro X6\OverlayFX\Mix

In MEP: C:\ProgramData\MAGIX\Movie Edit Pro 2014 Plus\OverlayFX\Mix

You can copy these and other effects from MEP into the respective VPX6 folders. I looked at many of the ini files and they are set up for the effects, only the files were missing.

Hi

. . . . Am I the only one who uses these types of effects? . . . .

Probably not - however I do not use them.

I use some of the many free video loops that are available from many websites on the Internet.

The main ones I have used are particle and snow effect video loops.

I just received a Magix emai selling Photostory 2015 Deluxe, and find that it now supports more plugins, specifically DigiEffects Phenomena (which I've been searching for for a very long time). I've come to realize that some of the effects that I previously mentioned (snow, rain, etc.) are workable with background videos found for free on the web.

What I'm missing is my sparkling stars and 'fairy dust' effects that I used so much. I use it to enhance the hand writing effect, for example. It worked great on my wedding videos and reunion projects as well.

So, I'm still in search for a compatible product. I am slightly hopeful that with Photostory 2015 Deluxe now supporting more of the plugins available 'out-there,' there is hope. I'm just not sure how long it will take their 'top of the line video product' to support plugins that their less expensive product does.

Thanks for everyones help. Additional questions and comments are very much appreciated.

I did try to move a number of the earlier supported effects (from MEP2013 to VPX6 directories) but wasn't very successful. Thanks, browj2, for the suggestions. I sure wish I could have gotten them to work.
