applying effects to pro 16 plus

I am working on Pro 16 plus- adn added a few effects- with no problem- however can't seem to add any more - is there only a few I can do ?What could be the problem for it to quit working? It even shows the littel red box by the effect- how ever did not apply to picture...I an working with still pics- not a video

You can only add so many effects to any given picture or video at one time. If you apply the effect to a different picture then drag it over to the picture that already has an effect you can sometimes trick it into allowing more then one at a time. Not sure if this fixes your problem but there wasn't much info to go on.
