Analogue Modelling Suite Plus Installation Issue

KKC wrote on 12/22/2022, 4:23 AM

Hello Magix,

I'm having difficulty with the installation of my Analogue Modelling Suite Plus on my Mac OS Catalinat 10.15.7. Everytime i click on the downloaded installation package, i am met with an error massage saying "analogue_modelling_suite_plus_int.pkg can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash." I then would check my privacy settings pane after clicking cancel to see if i may manually enable it for download. But it doesn't show up there either... I'd appreciate your help. Thank you.

Sidebar Question: What does versions (DE) and (II) stand for? ... I didn't know which to download.

Best,

KC

@KKC

Welcome to the Magix user to user forums, so not a contact for any Magix staff, sorry.

Unfortunately, the Analogue Modelling Suite Plus is a Windows-only product, as confirmed on this web page. If you do not have the facility to install and run a Windows partition on your MAC, e.g., possibly via Bootcamp, you cannot install and run this product. Assuming you bought it only recently you need to email infoservice@magix.net and request a refund.

To answer your sidebar question: DE means it is the German version of the installer so I assume that II is the "international" version.

Thanks for your help! Much appreciated...

However, I actually own the MacOS installer from when I originally purchased the plugin in February of 2016. It worked fine at the time on my Mac OS Mojave. I just recently upgraded to Catalina after reformatting my computer as I am now finally getting back to music. My Magix account looks pretty much the same since, and there seems to be no noticeable changes to the registered plugin formats on my page, I'm sure the developers would have at least notified Mac clients via email of any discontinuations.

At any rate, the Mac installer download is successful. However the problem comes when I try to open the installer on my computer which prompts the message ...

"analogue_modelling_suite_plus_int.pkg can't be opened. You should move it to the Trash."

I'm hoping they have a work around for this.

Thanks emmerecs

@KKC Catalina removed 32 bit support. I think that's your problem.

No the installer is actually 64-bit. It even mentions on the plugin page that it accepts 32 & 64 bit processing.

@KKC Ok, in this case the installer may be damaged. Have you tried to redownload it?

Yes i did reinstall it and all... no luck.

However, i dug a little deeper and discovered the heart of the problem which lies in this prompt here ... "The package was signed with a certificate that was revoked. This package might not install what you expect. Obtain a new copy of the package and try again.". I got this message after trying to use the command terminal on my mac to overwrite Gate-Keeper permissions that come with the latest Mac OSs. Macintosh has apparently become more strict in their malware prevention and file security these last few years. I believe they're using a process referred to as ProjectX.

That said, i am currently investigating ways around this roadblock ...like with a command line in terminal that could bypass unsigned signatures and uncertified developers ...

But ideally, Magix should re-certify themselves and reinstate their appropriate signatures, especially for Mac users. We're spending all this money, and as such, Mac users deserve that much also quite frankly...

Hope you guys may know something... But if not, thank you regardless. And don't forget to have a Happy New Year! ^u^*
