Hi

. . . . downloaded latest usb driver from internet for windows 8.1 . . . .

Unless you got the drivers from Magix it is likely that you have thewrong version of the drivers ie they are the 64 bit version, you need the 32 bit version of the drivers from here.

Once these are installed the program should work as normal.

Hi

Has the program worked before or is this the first time ?

When you play the video on the device you are trying to capture from, through the USB device, do you see this in the Preview screen?

RYVT 2 is an old version of the program which I do not have, however if you can see the video in the Preview screen and the Continue button is still blank, the program may be waiting for you to select one or more options eg recording quality before allowing you to continue.

I bought the program in 2011

I never loaded the cd or used it because i also bought a video player cum dvd player with direct conversion to dvd.

This machine has now broken down, and I still have some videos I want to convert.

So i now installed the RYVT2 but get no joy out of it.

I cannot see the video streaming on the preview screen either.

Regards

Emiel

Hi

I suspect this may be a compatibility issue with Windows 8.1.

Try the following:

  1. Using Windows Explorer - navigate to the program folder of the program this will be in - this should be C:\Program Files (x86)\MAGIX

  2. Locate the program file (.exe), right-click it and choose Properties.

  3. Click on the Compatibility tab and check the Run this program in compatibility mode for box.

  4. Choose Windows Vista from the list.

  5. Click OK to get out of the dialog box.

  6. Run RYVT to see if it works.

If not then I think you will have to try the latest version of Rescue Your Video Tapes.
