An Error occured during Export

fishycomics wrote on 1/21/2024, 9:30 AM

The software worked perfect, after about the recent windows update I open Movie 2023, export to Mpeg-4 and I get the Message on the render

An Error occered on Export ,

one possible solution is to select another preset or disable hardware encoding in advance export settings

I have to again render and overwrite and works on the render, as long as movie 2023 stays open, once closed. it REPEATS all over agan. there is no SAVE at all as I can not find it. I like this resolved.

@fishycomics

Hi.

If you are running Windows 10 and referring to the Windows KB5034441 problem I doubt this is causing your export problem but can't rule it out completely.
As that page shows, Microsoft is working on a solution to the problem of there not being enough room on some C: drives to download the update onto the partition
it needs to be loaded to. A lot of C: drives have not allocated enough space in that partition that needs a minimum of 256MBs to enable the download.
This has also affected my computer but has not subsequently caused the problem you are currently suffering.

If this has caused your problem then you will probably have to wait for Microsoft to release the next update where they may within the update increase that partition size.

To save a project is go to File / and select either 'Save' or 'Save as' if you want to rename the project.

The problem is that once you have received such a warning the program settings in File / Settings / Program settings / in the device options tab will have disabled the offending GPU and probably replaced it using the CPU.

The program should be asking you on exiting if you want to save the project. If you press yes, the program should have opened with the new device settings in place and not be generating that warning.

It would really help us if you put your complete system specification in your Signature as some problems could be caused by other issues such as driver updates.

You are aware this is a user forum with little to no interaction with Magix staff here.

Ray.

In addition to @CubeAce comment, this sounds like your project file has become corrupt.

Try the following:

  • Load the project into MMS 2023 and select File, Manage project, Export movie file , Magix Movie file (*.mvd) give the file a name.

  • Reset MMS 2023 - File, Settings, Reset program settings to defaults. Do note this will reset any custom filepaths or other settings you have changed.

  • Restart MMS 2023

  • Load the saved mvd project into MMS 2023 selecting File, Manage project, Import movie file , Magix Movie file (*.mvd).

  • Save the project with a new name.

thanks in advance for answering if i did not say and I thank you for the answers

I am running win 11 not 10, they already id a software update so it is not fixed.

1. will check on the way the update from windows load ,and also about a recovery, to go back some.

2. on export I must each time go in advance, and take away the one CPU then the balance. so I will then need to go look at my graphics side.

3 I reset the program, I deleted "ALL" and ran this twice, the only thing I did not do was run before the Magix update, and its not magix but part of win.

will continue to figure this out

@browj2  Yes, fails to work. correctly

fishycomics wrote on 1/24/2024, 8:30 AM

thanks all: let me try to show some shots, explain the Issue, as this came about recently while all worked perfectly fine.

1 each new start up, you can simply go to File-export movie-Mpeg-4, and render empty timeline.

the Error processing CPU comes up, and simply repeat to do a full render, no issues. all resolutions H264, H265 and other cameras

A) The photo shows Multi CPU

B) the save is shown by the top line that fails to actually save, that is what I am finding out for one.

C) if I go in to File-Settings-Programs- Device options, I can change the three lines, as I change to the Arc on one, two three I can crash the system

The start up does not recover, knowing I have to look at file-recent projects

D) changed to the default Irix graphics ( no default) settings noted, unless you reset all settings elewhere)

and go to File-export movie- HEVC, and render, this works, but the auto playback is Disabled.lower thirds,

2. the SOlution and answer is to change the File-Settings-Programs-device Options graphics to a working one , the export to CPU, and M-peg-4 advances to one's liking.

this works on M-peg4 right now

this also works

The Resolution is to Fix the Export, the solution is to use Either CPU, or microsofts warp. slows the render

As this is not a project issue but of the Xport.

@fishycomics

Hi

The issue is with an Intel graphics accelerator driver - see this Microsoft topic for a possible resolution.

If that does not fix the issue, we need more information to help diagnose the issue(s) you are having:

The specification of your computer system including Windows version and program version, see this topic for what is required and please quote processor and graphics card make/model in full.

I would suggest you put this information in your profile signature so we do not have to keep asking for it.

Are you using Re-Bar?

I notice on your first image on exporting that you have multiple GPUs selected in the hardware acceleration options when you only have one.

Try selecting using only one GPU in that Drop down menu. The selections should be Multiple GPUs, Single GPU or CPU.

Resizeable bar enables faster connections between the GPUs in use to the CPU. It is normally a bios setting.

CubeAce wrote on 1/24/2024, 11:09 AM

@fishycomics

Hi.

I find that any changes I make in the program settings stick regardless of whether I then save the project or not. Those are hardware settings as opposed to project settings. To my mind they should be included with the project settings.

Those altered settings are even carried over to other previous projects that had different settings applied. That can be annoying and even troublesome sometimes as I have varying needs depending on what I am doing within a project.

It does come down to hardware though. If the data can be handled fast enough at all stages of transferring from one component to another then there is no need to start changing the settings the program chooses when installed and it looks at your hardware. The higher end the components are the less problems you get due to the speed and capacity of the components. The specs page first paragraph says as much in advertising speak.

The problem for me is the more I can do the more I push the program and the more I push the program the less effective my components become and adjustments need to be made to continue.

Be aware that all they claim is measured against a project created at an HD resolution without the use of third party effects. Once you cross that line the minimum specs needed as stated with the base program are no longer applicable and the improvements to hardware can escalate quite quickly.

[Edit] You will need those Microsoft updates. I would advise against removal.

Hi

Can you please complete the specs of the laptop please - we still need to know the CPU full name and model number, RAM installed and additionally the make/model of the laptop.

. . . . the arc graphics . last update was sept 2023 updating driver . . . .

Never trust Windows to tell you the status of drivers - it does not always tell the truth.

As this is a laptop there may be a couple of issues:

  1. The GPU's may be locked such that only one of them, probably the ARC 370M, is used for the heavy GPU work and Hardware Acceleration and the IRIS XE is for driving the display only, this could account for the error message you have been getting.

  2. The drivers may be locked to those provided by the laptop manufacturer - check with them first on their website for new drivers.

According to Intel, the A370M and Iris XE drivers are out of date the current version is 31.0.101.5085/31.0.101.5122 and are available here.

Do note: the drivers installed by the laptop manufacturer may be locked such that the Intel sourced drivers cannot be installed.

Re-bar is Resizable BAR a technology for allowing the CPU to access the GPU memory directly - to determine if this is on see item 4 here.

Hi John, Fishs.

I missed the images showing the two GPUs.

In Windows / Settings / System / Display, scroll to the bottom of that page and select 'Graphics settings.

On that page you will see. Hardware accelerated GPU scheduling. Make sure it is on.

Underneath you will see a box below 'Choose an app to set preference',

Set it to Desktop app and open the Browse box.

Make your way to Local Disc (C) / Program files / Magix / ProX folder and find the exe file. Click on the file to load it. Once loaded it should give three options.

Let Windows decide

Power saving

High performance.

One of those options could give you better performance. For me it is Power saving but for you it could be one of the other two. You will notice when it is wrong as performance will suffer. At worst it will not be any better.

For instance, if your inboard sound chip can do 96kHz or above at 32 bit it is wasteful for video editing as it is better to have those settings at 48kHz and 24 or 16 bit as the exported files types can't go above those limits anyway and helps reduce demands in the program. Some windows updates have been known to reset such alterations back to their default settings so should be checked after any Windows update if you see any change in behaviour in your video editor.

Glad the updated graphics drivers helped. It pays to try to keep those as up to date as possible. I check for new driver monthly. Most of the time the driver will only be optimised for a new game but every now and then there are benefits for creators as well.

Happy editing.

Ray.

I guess this is how technology keeps us on its toes. Will have to keep an eye out now Lol. Maybe my next question will be about how to motion track and blur a address out, used to be so easy with MEP 12-15, no more

HI

. . . . how technology keeps us on its toes . . . .

Funny, I thought it was 'how quick technology can part us from our hard earned cash' 😂

. . . . . Maybe my next question will be about how to motion track and blur a address out, used to be so easy with MEP 12-15, no more . . . .

It just so happens 😀, that there is a tutorial on motion tracking here and and using masks for blurring out multiple areas in a video clip here.

I must update the Mask tutorial, however the principles still apply in later versions of MEP/MMS, do note that the automatic application of Chromakey Alpha no longer occurs, you have to do this manually.

There are several other methods of achieving the same effect.
