After extending trial, all content of project has disappeared

Ive been working on one project on and off for about a week (MEP 16). When my initial trial was over it said I could extend it, which I did. But now the project I've been working on appears to be empty. When I go to the "edit" screen there is nothing. Is there any other reason this might happen?

I don't know that extending the trial had anything to do with it, but that's the only thing I recall doing since last having it opened. I only have one copy of the project and its last save date is the last day I worked on it.

Did you have to install anything after extending the trial?

I wouldn't think there was a extra download, and I am only asking because the only way for the project file to "vanish" is if the program folders were re-written.

I have never experienced anything like that, the only time I find projects missing is when I forget where I saved or what I named it... so now I use posted notes on my monitor to tell me project names so at least I know that project is still needing my attention, and if all else fails I can so a search on the hard drive for that file name to locate it.

Is it possible that you moved the files?

The location of the file hasn't changed. It's saved in its own folder on its own separate hard drive, which means that it shouldn't have been impacted if there were any re-writing of program files.

So none of the files are on that separate hard drive?

The program would not have eliminated that, something else would have to have altered that information... the only thing I can think of is that you created a project, and that the files for the project were on the other drive, but the project file itself was located in the program directory folder... could that be the case?

Even then I have applied countless patches which sometimes do overwrite folders and I have never lost a file that way.

I don't think I can really say one way or the other, I will try this with a MAGIX program I do not own, to see if that works.
