Activation of Trial Version of MEP +

I purchased the e-version of MEP+ and after entering the activation code you would expect it to change or be convertered to the full version. When it was activated it didn't change, due to it not changing I'm not able to download the online free available templates and effects not included with the e-version.

I called sales support to get the hard copy after all the aggrevation this e-version put me through. He sent me a direct link to the files and I was able to download all the available patches and content. When I attempted to install and apply these updates it say's "no supported software" I assume this do to the program showing up as the trial version.

I've already deleted and reinstalled the program and reactivated and nothing has changed. I'm at a lost and I can't find anything in the knowledge base addressing this. I have a film to have edited before Monday and the hard box copy was just ordered today and I really need access to the templates. I enjoy what access I have to the program but I am disappointed that they didn't advertise clearly that the e-version lacked this content in the downloadable version. I would have paid the extra 5 dollars to bypass this aggrevation.

Thanks to anyone that can offer me some help.

Hi Nathan,

You were not mistaken - the full content and feature set is part of the download version of Movie Edit Pro. It just needs to be downloaded and installed separately. You're probably also right with your assumption that this only fails due to the program not being fully activated, which in turn is usually the result of something going wrong during the activation process. Mostly it's overly restrictive security software that messes up your activation. Out of curiosity, what security software are you using? Some security products are a little more notorious than others when it comes to intrusive behavior and software conflicts (e.g. Norton, McAfee). I typically use Avira AntiVir (free edition) and F-Prot on my machines and never have any problems with the installation and activation of Magix software.

So, basically you could try uninstalling the software completely and then reinstalling and reactivating it with your security software being configured less restrictively or even being turned off temporarily until your activation was successful. It's worth a shot. If you don't want to go down this road, you'd probably be able to work out something with Magix sales to sort you out with a disc version.

Hope this helps!
