Aside from the issue of VSTs losing all their presets (when is this going to be fixed?) I find I spend more time pissing around with Acid Pro 8 now more than ever before.

The latest version has some horrendous stability issues.

• Tear out a soft synth windows and 50% of the time the window I get is blank (or all grey) and the soft synth cannot be controlled at all. Close the window and reopen it and I get a window the size of the red 'close' box. Open that out wider and the box is still grey.
• Record a track in MIDI. Great. Play it back. Silence. Save and re-open. Track plays fine.
• Load up a VST an the VST fails to respond, taking down the whole of the application. Half the time the VSTs are perfectly straightforward effects I have been using for ages. What has changed?
• I am also finding an horrendous number of VSTs are simply failing to load, full stop. Some of these cost me serious money. What do I do? Reinstall them?

I honestly don't remember any of this pain with Sony.
