Yeyea, more details. I mean, it's not much more to say though. Question is about Acid Music Studio 11, and what's happening with mp3-support, or lack there of really. From what I could find, the issue itself seems to be known from a few Acid Pro releases where it eventually, through updates, got fixed. And specifically about Acid Music Studio 11 the issue has been asked about, once, before in a post, which hasn't been responded to. So it's just that, I have no details. I'm the one looking for them. Do you have any?
2. Yes, everything works normally outside of AMS11.
3. Well, at least the ones I've tried opening. And, for good measure, I've tried files from different folders, from internal/external hdd, files of different sizes and durations etc.
4. Not sure, is this what you mean?
General Complete name : D:\00 Hip-Hop\Norsk\tungtvann - 2 uka.mp3 Format : MPEG Audio File size : 9.28 MiB Duration : 4 min 1 s Overall bit rate mode : Constant Overall bit rate : 320 kb/s Writing library : LAME3.98r Cover : Yes Cover type : Cover (front) Cover MIME : image/jpeg
Audio Format : MPEG Audio Format version : Version 1 Format profile : Layer 3 Duration : 4 min 1 s Bit rate mode : Constant Bit rate : 320 kb/s Channel(s) : 2 channels Sampling rate : 48.0 kHz Frame rate : 41.667 FPS (1152 SPF) Compression mode : Lossy Stream size : 9.22 MiB (99%) Writing library : LAME3.98r Encoding settings : -m s -V 4 -q 3 -lowpass 20.5
Honestly, I can't really remember where that specific mp3 came from. But that file was just randomly chosen, I have tried mp3s with different bitrates and sample rates, the problem is mp3 in general. Like, I'm sure some of my mp3s are videograbs, some are ripped from my own cd's, some are downloaded, some of them legally, some not so much... And some are files that I rendered myself out of Acid Pro 7 years ago.
@Grambler have you installed any codec packs, that could have feasibly replaced the system-wide mp3 support for a third party, and this is not compatible with AMS?
I quickly ran this past my colleague from ACID support, but they're not aware of this being a common problem - neither with a particular category of problematic MP3 files, nor with any known issue that someone could be causing in their operating system to mess up ACID Music Studio's MP3 import. If you don't mind, please get in touch with support directly and have them look into it:
I installed the trial version of Acid Pro, to see if I would have the same problem there. But I didn't, no issues with mp3-support at all. So I dived into the installation folders of both programs, found a folder in each called "FileIOplugins", or something, and in there a folder called "mp3plug"-ish, which contained a DLL by the same name. The Acid Pro file was named almost the same, so I figured: what the hell, and I copied the DLL from Acid Pro, deleted the one in the AMS11 folder and gave the Pro-file the same name as the AMS one had and pasted it in.
I hope @ralftaro may respond to your post but Magix Support policy is that it is free for 12 months from the date of purchase/registration. After that period purchase of a voucher is necessary (I think about $10) unless you subscribe to the annually-renewable Update service.
@emmrecs Thing is, I only bought the program a few weeks ago. Never registered anything else or used any other Magix software before that. Gotta say, not too impressed by their "support"-system in general. Reeeaaally hope I can get by now without any more problems with AMS11, because that there was straight up exhausting.
Thanks for the update. Since you purchased the software so recently there is no way you should have to buy a support voucher!
Do you have any proof of purchase of the date you actually bought the software? Did you register the purchase once the program was installed?
I will flag this post to @ralftaro because if you do have proof of purchase and did register the software I think he will need to assist you, perhaps by giving you a direct link to support personnel or by having the appropriate staff member contact you directly.
ok, so...when I try to contact support, this is what i get:
"Please enter the code from your support voucher.
Unfortunately your last registered product is too old.
You can buy a voucher in our shop."
Is this for real?? They charge for tech-support??
This is a known problem. You have to completely logout of your account online and then log back in. This refreshes the account and then you can get the free support.
Glad to hear you already managed to find a way around the issue by yourself. Sorry about your problem contacting support. @Graham-Hawker is dead-on about the issue with the support website. It least I strongly assume that this problem situation applies to your case as well. So, logging out from the support website once, and logging back in will allow you to raise future support tickets. The support website itself will soon be completely replaced by a new technical solution with better integration into magix.info, meaning this issue will be a thing of the past. Again, sorry for the hassle.

Badabing badaboom, everything works just fine!
I am having this exact same problem and I have no idea how to remedy this as your response might as well be in greek to me lol. I cannot believe this software somehow works worse than AMS8. This support system is terrible
Did you notice this thread is nearly two years old? As a general rule, please do not resurrect old threads, but rather start a new thread with your question.
However, have you read through the whole of this thread? Have you tried to contact Magix Support? If not, this is the place to start.
In the meantime, this thread will be closed. If you wish to take the discussion further, please do as I suggested and start a new thread, including details of exactly which version of AMS you currently have.
