This might be a bad assumption, but would you expect that the next version of ACID will have some level of compatibility with legacy projects from ACID Pro 7? Like so many here, I have given a sincere effort to moving on to a modern DAW, but the intuitive and incredibly quick nature of ACID has always left me frustrated with that long and familiar list of "others" (Bitwig, Pro Tools, Samplitude, StudioOne, Reaper, and on and on).

A few months ago, I began creating a new set of songs in ACID Pro 7, and now I am wondering if those projects will easily port over to what will hopefully be, the soon-to-be released next generation ACID.

Wow.... even saying "next generation ACID" still makes me feel like I'm wearing a tin-foil hat.... but it's official, it's coming.... right? I'm not dreaming...... Right?

Totally agree with you, marty-baggen I started with Acid, too. Used it for years, then moved on to MANY other DAWs, but were not satisfied at all.

But after the move to Magix I reinstalled my Acid Pro 7 and made six songs in two weeks! Absolutely love Acid.

I personally think it will be compatible. Think they will port it to 64 Bit (most wanted feature). So you might perhaps have to install your plugins in 64 Bit.

We will see.... In these times I can stay calm when the other companies present the new versions of their DAWs.

It´s only Acid that counts! :-)

Thanks for the link Frank... that is great news. Heck, learning German would be easier than using some of the DAWs that are out there.

Staying calm..............

I have both 7 pro and the studio version, I would upgrade again to the pro. Some of the 32 bit plugins that came with pro crash Vegas so I had to remove them. But it is such an easy program to use with my PX-5S for Midi work.

Good news: New Acid Version will definitely released in the first half of 2018 :-)
