GUIDE TO THE CONCEPT ALBUM “CLAUSTROFONIA”
MADE BY FRASAN GALAGLAV
Nella produzione narrativa di Mario Tobino assume particolare rilievo quella cosiddetta professionale, inerente il suo lavoro di psichiatra al manicomio di Lucca. Per le antiche scale, pubblicato per la prima volta nel 1972, rappresenta un importante tassello di tale produzione. Una serie di racconti che hanno come filo conduttore la follia, il suo mistero, il suo impadronirsi degli esseri umani "come le termiti che si sono impadronite di una trave". Nella schizofrenia, che è la forma più frequente di pazzia, l'essere umano si scinde in due: possiede, a saperle ascoltare, due voci.
Claustrofonia è il “suono chiuso”. Il suono rinchiuso dentro alla pazzia, il suono rinchiuso che strozza la comunicazione verso l’altro. La chiusura di chi ha paura della diversità. La paura del folle. Disse Franco Basaglia, il padre della riforma psichiatrica : “La follia è una condizione umana. In noi la follia esiste ed è presente come lo è la ragione” - ed ancora - “La società, per dirsi civile, dovrebbe accettare tanto la ragione quanto la follia, invece incarica una scienza, la psichiatria, di tradurre la follia in malattia allo scopo di eliminarla”.
Con il concept album “Claustrofonia” i Frasan Galaglav vogliono, a loro modo, affrontare il tema della follia, ritraendola con le loro descrizioni musicali.
A questo progetto collabora anche l’amico fotografo Massimo Scrigni, chiamato in causa per caratterizzare attraverso le immagini, il dramma della solitudine e della follia. In the narrative production of Mario Tobino (italian writer) is particularly important the professional production inherent in his work as a psychiatrist at the asylum of Lucca. " Per le antiche scale – (For the ancient stairs)", published for the first time in 1972, represents an important element of this production. A series of short stories that have as their common thread the madness, its mystery, its possession of human beings. In schizophrenia, which is the most frequent form of madness, the human being consists of two parts: the schizophrenic person know how to listen, two voices.
Claustrofonia is the "sound closed." The sound locked inside the madness, the sound locked up in the communication with each other. The closure of those who are afraid of diversity. The fear of madness. Franco Basaglia (The father of psychiatric reform in Italy) said: "Insanity is a human condition. In us the folly exists and is present as is the reason "and again," The society , should accept as much reason as madness, instead instructs a science, psychiatry, to translate the madness disease in order to eliminate it."
With the concept album "Claustrofonia" the Frasan Galaglav want, in their own way, address the issue of insanity. Frasan Galaglav describes madness trough the music.
In this project also collaborates the friend photographer Massimo Scrigni, called upon to characterize through the images, the drama of loneliness and the madness.
