Quite a while ago, I used Vegas pro, and it was possible to position a video event in the frame using the "Video Event Pan/Crop" tool. The picture could be positioned anywhere on screen.

With Movie Studio Platinum 17, the Video Event Pan/Crop tool is still there, but it either keeps the cropped event centered, or crop it in place without moving it. It's not possible to crop and position freely.

There is the "Track Motion" tool, which allows positioning. But it's track based, not event based. Which means, if you have a bunch of sequential events on the same track, and want to put them at different positions, you have to animate with keyframes. And when you move the events in the timeline everything gets messed up.

Is this a limitation of Movie Studio Platinum vs Vegas? Is there an alternative to position events in a "per event" manner?
