Achtergronden

Wou ik net even een groene achtergrond snel erin zetten, vind ik die 'beeldobjecten - achtergronden' bij sjablonen niet meer, hebben ze die eruit gehaald? Was zo gemakkelijk.. Ga ik via de bovenste menubalk via 'Effecten' - 'Designelementen' dan zie ik daartussen 'achtergronden' staan, klik ik hierop, gebeurd er niets... vreemd..

Hi

Which version of VPX are you using?

Assuming VPX 12, and you have installed all the Extra content, the image backgrounds etc. have been moved to the Templates tab as shown below

The solid colour images are no longer available, I create what I need in an image editing program and use these..

Hi Ray

. . . . Use the custom colours in the backgrounds section . . . .

Agreed, that is an alternative method, however depending on the usage required it may not be appropriate eg animation of the object and coloured background, or something like this is not possible with the background design option

Hi Ray

The Background design option is full screen only, if you want a border around a resized object then an image has to be used as in the example I posted - this is the yellow border around the possum video clip in the centre.

This is an example where a grey image has been used to create a thin frame around the 3 video objects with animation of both.

Hi Ray

We may be talking at cross purposes here.

The 'Background design option is full screen only' I am referring to is the one you get on right click of a video or image object

and if you use colour, as @Colorz required, the background colour is not 'resizeable/moveable' ie is full screen only as shown below

In your example you are adding a separate image, this can also be done in the above right click method if you use the image option, it is the same as your method, a separate image is applied in either case and the image is editable as it is a separate object.

Hi John.

Thanks for the additional clarification. That makes sense and made me re-read the original question to understand your answer.

I did also notice that using the method I chose that the image used is only 76 x 76 pixels although enlarged to fit the screen. There are certainly a lot of odd things I've yet to understand.

Hi John,

What you show about the Background design option is completely correct, but I mean Image objects / background

  • Go to Effects - View / Animation - Position / Size
  • Click on track 1 and you can resize, rotate, etc ...
  • Click on track 2 and you can now also resize, rotate, etc ...

See image

Hi,

In MEP2021 Plus, under Templates, Image Objects, Test Images, I have the colour swatches. This was a new install and the dates of the files are all the same. I don't think that I copied them over from another version, but maybe I did. I didn't install to the default drive either.

Does no one else have these?

I also have them in VPX12.

Hi John.

MEP 2021 has them but not VPX 11. MEP does not have the custom colour option though.

I wonder if I could just copy and paste the files across?

Ray.

I'm getting more confused with VPX.

Right click a file you create with Custom Color and select Background Design. If Set as background is ticked untick it first.

You then get this.

Or this.

I notice only the Bitmap files don't show in the background effects section of MEP. So is it a bug?

Would using this help?

Ray.

@CubeAce

Hi Ray,

I'm lost. It looks like you have the colour swatches in VPX. If not, just copy them to the Videocontent folder:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Videocontent\Video Pro X\VideoEffects\BackgroundEffects\ColorFields

and the icons to the subfolder.

Check the translation_en.ini file and if not there and if the filenames are like mine, add:

[black]
name=Black

[white]
name=White

[red]
name=Red

[pink]
name=Magenta

[cyan]
name=Cyan

[green]
name=Green

[blue]
name=Blue

[yellow]
name=Yellow

I notice that you have the old ones with cryptic filenames, so you can use them and change the parts in brackets in the above ini file to be the cryptic filenames and they should show up as per my screenshot.
