AVCHD ON Dual-Layer discs?

emmrecs escrito el 22.02.PM a las 12:24 horas

This is a question for the experts on this forum: is it possible to export and burn AVCHD video to Dual-Layer DVD?

The question arises because a) a poster on a forum for a different NLE program complained that he couldn't achieve this, b) I replied saying I didn't think it was possible and he replied he had done it previously, and c) I've never tried to do it.

Despite the statement that "he had done it previously" my gut instinct suggests that what he actually produced was not AVCHD output. Am I right? Anyone successfully done this, using either MEP or VPX or any other video editing program?

I suppose I should test out my theory but I currently have no footage available which I could use to confirm or refute my theory.

TIA for any responses.

Jeff

Jeff, I've never burnt a dual layer DVD of any kind, but a quick search on the net shows threads about it so the answer is yes.

To confirm I've just checked my Nero Video 16 and yes it will burn AVCHD to DVD-9 with 8.00 gb. I assume DVD-9 is dual layer.

Hi Eric, thanks for this and for your post on CP. I have responded more fully there.

Yes, DVD9 is dual-layer.
