Not all soundpools load

Procyon wrote on 2/26/2015, 9:09 PM

I have recently installed MM-2013 on my new computer.  I have several other soundpools that I've purchased in the past.  I've added all of the styles to MM-2013 previously, however, the next time I open the program half of them are not loaded.

All of the soundpools are located in a single folder on a seperate drive from the boot/OS/program drive.  In the program settings I have the soundpools folder location shown for the soundpools.

I've never had this problem with MM-15 (not 2015) on my old computer where I also had the soundpools located on a second drive.

Any ideas?  Thanks.

Hi,

Try using the "+add" button above Styles in the Soundpools part of the Media pool and navigate to the main folder. I had the same problem recently and +add solved the problem. I don't know why everything didn't come in by default given that the Folder was properly set in the Program settings.

Regards,

John - The problem is I have to do that every time I open the program.  Not all of the styles are "sticking" in the database (as you put it).

It's a relatively minor inconvenience, but an inconvenience none-the-less.  I guess I should be grateful it's not duplicating the styles that ARE staying in the database.  That has been a common problem for people in the past.

That is annoying when that happens.

Try resetting the soundpool database under program settings, General options tab. Make sure that "Check during program start" is selected.

John - Thanks for the suggestions.  I tried them all without success.  "Check during program start" has been checked the whole time.  I unchecked it and rechecked it.

I even deleted the soundpools, closed the program, rebooted the computer, restarted the program, reloaded the soundpools, closed the program, rebooted the computer and restarted the program.  Guess what?....That's right...half of them were still missing.

I also checked the soundpool(s) folders names for any anomolies that might cause it to reject some.  I could find nothing that would explain it.

I guess there's just one more thing to say....That's MAGIX.  Gotta love it!
