. . . . Where did all the Soundpool DVDs go to? . . . .
As with the majority of software manufacturers everything is going online - the Soundpool DVD's are now called 'Collections' on Catooh.
Note: - it is your responsibility to backup and preserve your downloaded files as stated in the FAQ. The download links are deactivated 2 weeks after purchase.
. . . . Is this new Magix "LIVE", basically the new Music Maker we have known before? . . . .
The DVD's that we knew that contained Soundpool collections seemed to have definitely disappeared, or at least I can't find them anymore. Others have noted the same problem.
The Collections that you mention are actually song collections, not Soundpools. Take a look at the details.
What they call Soundpacks appear to be the previous individual soundpool collections. However, I tried to track some down and they do not have the same number of files.
For example:
1. Chillout - Chill to Death_pt.01 under Soundpacks refers to "Soundpack "Chillout Vol. 6" MAGIX MUSIC MAKER MX / MX PREMIUM - 90 BPM - 231 Files - Ogg Vorbis (192 kBit) / Wave (44,1 kHz / 16 Bit / stereo)" under the Description tab. 231 files vs 558 that I have. I received this as part of "MAGIX Soundpool 18 DVD Collection" which seems to be no longer available on Catooh or Magix sites.
2. Chillout - From the Inside_pt.01 under Soundpacks refers to "Soundpack "Chillout Vol. 7" MAGIX MUSIC MAKER 2013 / 2013 PREMIUM - 90 BPM - 243 Files - Ogg Vorbis (192 kBit) / Wave (44,1 kHz / 16 Bit / stereo)" under the description tab. 243 files vs 562 files that I have. Received as part of Basics_19 which also has disappeared.
3. Score - Forbidden Places_pt.01 refers to "Soundpack "MovieScore Vol. 12" MAGIX MUSIC MAKER 2015 PREMIUM - 80 BPM - 337 Files - Ogg Vorbis (192 kBit) / Wave (44,1 kHz / 16 Bit / stereo)." 337 files vs 337 - so this one has the same number of loops.
So, as far as I can tell, Magix has repackaged and renamed the soundpacks, some with fewer loops than before. The new naming makes it difficult to follow along for those who already have many of them and one has to be careful. As for fewer loops in some of the soundpacks, I have no idea why that is.
In any event, the DVD Soundpools collections seem to be no longer available. This may be because customers only wanted specific soundpacks and not all of the variety of packs offered, so Magix dropped the packaging.
Yes, it seems they have gone off the deep end here.
The DVDs offered everything in a single package, now going through the Catooh site.
Im not sure what they are trying but its a mess, no clear level of what you are getting, and its pretty terrible how some VERY old collections and smaples are being re used in.
Also, the price for rather small sounds like they have on the site is a total rip off.
