I have tried everything to get my program (Magix MM 2013 premium) to recognize the soundpools which I have installed on my hard drive.

I can't get it to stop asking for the discs. BTW running Windoiws 7

I have changed the paths in the program settings to match where they actually are (program insisted on /public/documents but the computer does not have such a folder, it has public/publicdocuments)

I have uninstalled/reinstalled program and soundpools off disc.

Then I went to settings and reset the soundpools both with the box checked and then with it unchecked to clear the pools in the selection box. then it will not allow me to add the soundpools, the program crashes every time partway through.

In fact now it doesn't seem to recognize any of them, where before it only asked for certain discs it now won't load any soundpool on my system.

I'm not a noobie with computers or Magix software but this is frustrating and I'd even consider buying a newer version of the program if I was sure it would work better. does it?

I have a number of unfinished projects I don't want to lose either.

Any other suggestions or anyone know if a newer version does not have this issue?

Thanks!

UPDATE:

As usual I have found a workaround for at least most of this issue. For some reason when installing MM it will not allow me to change the path where the soundpools will be. Unfortunately the path it specifies does not exist and cannot even be created. users/public/documents...

On my system there is a users/public/publicdocuments instead.

If I try to even create a folder "documents" in there is will not allow it and it will be a second one with the same name "publicdocuments".

Even after changing the path in settings to the correct one on my sytem it made no difference.

So I did change the path in settings to what is actualy showing on my system (hopefully for future soundpool installations) ignoring some errors when it said the folder does not exist.

But then I had to manually add each folder there to the "styles" box in the program, which worked for at least most of them. I have 4 soundpool discs so I don't know exactly which are there and which are not but many are there and if I have to insert a disc now and then that isn't too bad but of course will try to add those if they are not already there.

Good luck

Hi Eric,

Look at the following images. In the first one, when you navigate to the Public documents, it looks like the folder is "Public Documents" but if you click at the end of the line, you get the second image.

In any event, look at where all of my Soundpools are installed - or actually just simply copied into the appropriate folders. Then in MMM, Soundpools tab, you click on +Add and navigate to the top folder:

C:\Users\Public\Documents\MAGIX\Common\Soundpools or wherever they all are

and then MMM does the rest.

You should not have to insert your CDs of the Soundpools; everything should be copied onto the hard disk under Soundpools.

Hi:

Thanks.

I did manage to get them all on the hard drive but what I did was manually copy the data off the discs to where I wanted them and then had to add each folder to the "styles".

Tried several times to allow the program to copy/add them but it kept locking up my system for who knows why, so now at least it works.

Thanks again
