What have you tried so far?

The first thing I would try is update your Video drivers.

What are you PC specs?

Hi and welcome to the forum

. . . . Error in module "OpenCL.dll" . . . .

Is usually and issue with the graphics card drivers on your PC.

Are you up to date with the drivers for you graphics card?

If updating the drivers does not fix the issue come back with your computer specification and MEP version and variant (Basic, Plus or Premium) - see this topic for details of what is required.

Had a similar issue with Vegas Pro 17 on my Dell Alienware m17. Originally, I'd just revert to an old OpenCL.dll file, but every time I'd get updates, a newer OpenCL.dll would install resulting with the same issue. Found out both the built-in and the add-on graphics devices were enabled. Disabeling the built-in graphic solved the problem.

Hi and welcome to the forum - albeit the wrong one.

Vegas products have their own forum see the important posts at the top of this forum here.

Hi Jim

Thanks for the tip but it would not be a good idea with Movie Edit Pro as the program relies quite heavily on the Intel Integrated Graphics for much of it's processing and accelerations.

Probably so, and I'm having to disable and enable as a work-around until I resolve the issue. Other software does not work well when the built-in is disabled. Good luck finding a solution.

What is your processor and integrated GPU, the 'add-on graphics, and are the updates coming from Microsoft through Windows Update?

Hi Jim

Thanks for the extra info - nice machine.

Do you have a monitor connected to the HDMI socket on the laptop?

If not this may be the cause of the issue, MEP is trying to use it but cannot because there is no monitor plugged in which initialises the Intel iGPU correctly enabling it to be used.

If you have a monitor try plugging it in to the HMI port to test, if you do not have a monitor to test, get a 'Headless ghost' monitor emulator (shown below and they are not expensive) and plug this in to the HDMI socket to see if this fixes the start up problem.

Jim, you may have read the comments in this recend thread;-https://www.magix.info/us/forum/error-in-module-idgrcl64-dll-renders-program-unstable-on-launch--1257018/

In addition to that I can say that some of us have found that we update the Intel iGPU driver to the latest from the Intel driver update page but then later find that the Windows update process has installed a much earlier driver. From this I found there is a simple way to stop windows updating specific drivers (google it).

The Alienware site also lists a very early Intel iGPU driver so it pays to check from time to time in device manager what driver is actually installed, bearing in mind my comments in the other thread about OEM versus Generic drivers.

Further, I think the Intel Graphics Driver Update utility can detect an OEM (custom) driver at which point it halts the process and prompts you to contact the PC manufacturer, but a straight download from Intel's Generic site offers no warning.
