Can I use the same registered product on my new computer. How do I make that happen. I logged into the download center and downloaded the software but it won't allow me to copy and paste the code.
Try deactivating the installation on your old computer and then activating the new installation. There is a limit on the number of activations that Magix allows and, if you have previously reinstalled the software on your old computer, without first deactivating it, your "account" is likely to show you have two activations currently "active".
BTW, "Movie Edit Pro" is the generic name of this software. It exists in three variants "Basic", "Plus" and "Premium". It is always helpful to we fellow-user if you specify which of these you have. Even more useful is to go to Help>About... and tell us the exact version number you have!
I have a new pc and want to load photostory deluxe 2022 onto it. IF I read the posts correctly it looks like I need to deactivate on the old and activate on the new. What happens to the files I have created?
You should have posted this under PhotoStory in case others have a similar question.
What happens to the files I have created?
Nothing, so long as they are in at least your Documents and not under the Program files.
In any event, I hope that you have a backup of all of your files. Hard drives can fail; I know all too well.
You can have 2 devices activated at one time, so you should not have to deactivate until you want to, unless somehow 1 device got activated twice because of hardware changes.
