It sounds like you do not have full administration rights with Windows.

I assume you are trying to install the program from disc, if so, make sure you have a DVD drive, as the program is written on DVD not CD, so it will take a DVD ROM drive to install it.

Open the DVD ROM drive from Windows 'My Computer' or how ever you normally would open the DVD ROM device. In there (if the Movie Edit Pro 15 disc is in) you should see several files, one should be a setup.exe file... you need to Right Click that file and Run As Administrator.

That should help install the program, if the only problem was lack of Administration Rights.

If I understand the question correctly this is not about an install but rather bringing in a certain type of video into the program for editing?

When this message happens it can be from a few factors. Sometimes if your video files are located in places like "desktop", "my documents", etc Windows will give this a strange "rights".

The easy solution in that case would be to move the files to a new location.

Another possibility is if the video is in MPEG4 format. If the MPEG4 codec has not been activated sometimes the program will give this message.

If the video is in MPEG4 then you can simply choose from the file menu in the program, export movie as, MPEG4. Once the codec is activated you should not get that message again.

*** THIS only applies if it is MPEG4 ***

Hello Magic Bus or John-Auivl,

I m still struggling with this program. I did moved my video files to new folder then try to move into Movie Edit Pro 15 but it still keep saying "if u do not have the authorization to write or read from this path, please contact administrator"

I did tried to export movie as Magix, Quick time, or Window Media. It is not working. So I checked the movie file properties to check permissions and it seems all of settings are "Allowed".

I dont know why I am still getting same message. Maybe you know there are other way to fix?

Many Thanks,

Sarah

I would suggest you raise a ticket with support. They can possibly test the file and see what the format is. I highly suspect you have not activated the correct codec though. Support will be able to let you know.

You can raise a ticket from magix.com when you click on support, technical support, email support.
