I'm an honest guy with a hobby and really don't want to step on anyone's toe's thorugh me doing my hobby. 

I was thinking of putting in each of the videos descriptions what was used to make the video and music.

I have queried with Magix and am waiting a reply, only sent it today so hopefully I will soon have an answer.

Definitely a good idea.

You could of course use any of the true royalty free and cost free music files which are available on the Internet just for such purposes eg this is one site I use regularly

I was looking for Ambient/Dark music tracks and thought that MMM would be perfect, and to be fair it is. I really like everything about it, I just didn't read up about the use of the programme beforehand!

My videos I make are of reportedly Haunted locations, I just produce walk rounds and the music is just in the background...

What I can make on MMM really goes well with this so it would be a shame if I couldn't use it.

Very true - if you have a knowledge of music or can play any musical instrument and are able to compose , or as I do put a sequence of notes, chords and drum beats together,  then you could use the various MIDI synthsizers including the Drum synths to create your own music.

So long as the composition is all yours and you do not use any of the copyrighted Soundpools then you can claim true copyright of the music.

There are many many more sites like that, they just take a lot of finding the true free ones from those that offer royalty free but charge for downloading them.

Hi James,

Further to John EB's replies, take a look at this tutorial about dubbing a video using Music Maker. You didn't indicate if you were using Movie Edit Pro or another editor, but the process is similar with a different movie editor. Export your video and import it into Music Maker, etc. As you will see in the tutorial, there are some very interesting synthesizers with sounds that may help enhance your video, scary, eary, weird sounds and noises. Most don't require much, if any, musical ability, just hold down a note. Take a look through them to see what you have.

For drumbeats, Magix has already stated that most are too generic to be considered as copyrighted, so I wouldn't worry about them. For other loops, keep in mind that Magix, or anyone else who makes these, would not like to have them published or rather played alone such that someone could easily copy the basic loop. Thus it is best to have at least 2 loops playing during part of the length of a single loop. Or, add your own sound over top of part of a loop using sound effects or something ffom a synth.

Keep in mind that you can time stretch and change the pitch of the loops (not sure if this can be done in the basic version), and add some other effects. Try out some effects on the loops to see and hear what they do. 

I think that you will be surprised at what you find.

That's not a problem. If the purpose is strictly non-commercial, you can use your works you've create in Music Maker (even when using the soundpool content) and publish them, without any need for further commercial licensing.

Please keep in mind that even if you had a commercial use case (maybe sometime in the future), you'd still be able to use the content produced in Music Maker. It would just require a suitable add-on license that can be had at a reasonable price (as a one-time payment). Starting in version 17 of the MAGIX Soundpool DVD collections and audio content bundled with the Music Maker product line, the use of the provided audio content is limited to private and non-commcerical use. The public presentation of the songs is still possible as long as it's non-commercial (e.g. YouTube without using any monetisation on your channel). However, for commercial productions you will need to obtain a suitable license for the content in question via Catooh (www.catooh.com). Commercial licenses are available for the entire soundpool disc (or Music Maker content collection), individual soundpools (i.e. one single style/volume) and soundpacks (smaller parts of a soundpool) on Catooh, giving you different options to meet your individual requirements.
