NewBlue Titler EX

johnebaker wrote on 9/21/2014, 8:12 AM

Hi

When testing out some of the new effects in MEP 2015 I have the NewBlue Titler FX crashing MEP and reporting low graphics capability (! ! !)  - I am using the Intel HD4600 integrated graphics and Harware Acceleration is turned on in the program settings.

Can anyone else reproduce this?

Added:

After a lot of digging on the NewBlue site with no luck I found the answer on Tumbler - NewBlueFX Titler does not support Intel GPU's.  Odd that other NewBlueFXs work fine on Intel GPU's

Thanks

John

Hi John,

It's specified in the note of MEP2015 Premium that "NewBlue Titler EX" doesn't support Intel HD graphic cards.

The same problem for Red Giant Knoll Light Factory and Red Giant Retrograde

Hi

@ Max

Thanks for the pointers - that was the one place I did not look - should follow my own advice

. . . . The same problem for Red Giant Knoll Light Factory and Red Giant Retrograde . . . .

Ah but there is the problem - they both do work and OpenCL is not installed on my computer - here is the timeline

Here is the video before

and after

Best wishes

Well John, I've got Nvidia quadro 4000 graphic card and I've just trusted in what Magix has written about "Red Giant Knoll Light Factory" and "Red Giant Retrograde", evidently the plugins work with your Intel graphic card.

Regards from Italy

Max

P.S. In the note it is pointed Open GL not Open CL

Hi Max

. . . . .In the note it is pointed Open GL not Open CL . . . .

Many thanks for that - I misread CL for GL  - that does explain why the two Red Giant programs do work.

Best wishes

John

Hi

I have just built a new PC using the i7 6700K 6th Gen Intel with HD5300 graphics and it is performing fine with this plug in!

The difference I can see in the graphics properties window is that this new GPU is reporting 128MB of dedicated VRAM and something like 8000MB of shared RAM.

Good news which even NB may not be aware of!

Peter

Hi Peter

Forgotton all about this question   .

With MEP 2016 installed the NewBlue plugins work fine with Intel HD 4600 Graphics, and of course they now work with MEP 2015 being a common component!

Hi John

My Surface Pro 3 with 2015 still throws up a warning that it wiil not open Titler EX due to low graphics memory capabilities of the HD4400 Intel GPU, and then crashes the program when I dismiss the prompt. The HD4400 shows no dedicated memory in the properties.

I read some discussion on Creative Cows forums that it was caused by some bad implementation of Open GL due to somebody's fault but can not remember who.

I was thinking I would need to purchase a dedicated card because of this issue but luckily held off untill I had given the rig a whirl with the onboard. All good so far but still installing and testing on the new build.

Cheers
