3d scrolling text error - MEP14+

redtawa wrote on 11/11/2011, 3:56 AM

In trying to put scrolling text beside a picture, I use the 3d scrolling text. All goes well until I set the movement up and then set the size and position. While setting, the outline box markers go exactly where I want them being on the right side of the screen. On returning, the titles are back in the centre part again and completely ignore the position settings I have made.

Is this a bug or have I missed something somewhere?

Peter

Hi,

Hopefully the following will be self-explanatory:

Please let me know if that helps. We're just users like you, and feedback is appreciated.

Thanks Terry,  I persisted for a while and following pretty much as you described to no avail then I cut it down to a simple edit and just had two small clips to play with - it worked perfectly. Going back to the main job and it failed. I shut the job down and the restarted MEP and presto, it now worked but a successive one later failed. Shutting down MEP and restarting and all was good again. I can only assume that something gets too deep on its stack and it needs to flush out occasionally which a close / restart provides. I will put it down to being a minor bug but can work around it. BTW the edit run has some 100 or  so clips and images in it so not exactly a small edit.

Glad you got it working, Peter, and thanks for the prompt feedback.

Yep, that sort of obscure, intermittent behaviour is all too familiar! (My post http://www.magix.info/uk/obscure-messages-about-3dmaker.forum.619550.html is a recent example.) Happily, a re-start fixes most of them. Or possibly saving the project with a fresh name, rebooting and then restarting.
